Snowpocalypse Pt. 2: DuPont
02.06.10
What an amazing and crazy day! For those of you who have been living under a rock, Washington DC just received a staggering and record setting 2 feet of snow! While our last impromptu snowball fight was ceased by an irresponsible officer, we had faith that things would go much better this time around!

Insane amounts of snow pelted DC
While we can’t take credit for creating the event, the original DuPont group was around 100 people before it was re-tweeted by Capitol Improv and from there it exploded to 5500 ppl overnight! Our networks and subnetworks (including some local news organizations) had helped create a monster!
We arrived on the circle a little late, but the event was in full swing with an estimated 2000 people chucking snow!

It was amazing seeing so many snowballs mid-air
Several news crews covered the event, unfortunately the mob-mentality of the group tended to target them and scared a couple of them off. (my deepest apologies to news channel 7 who had to leave early) Hopefully everyone left with the feeling it was all in good fun!

Smaller battles developed all over

A fierce battle breaks out between rival groups

The DuPont Fountain almost became a fort held by a few very brave individuals.

The opposing forces charge the fountain!

Some of the battles left huge clouds from freshly burst snowballs.
Snowpocalypse was yet another complete success! Even though some of the snowballs stung a bit, nobody was injured in the event. Even more importantly, I saw nothing but smiles across the entire circle! Thank you to everyone who came out and had fun with us!
If you have any photos of the event, feel free to upload them to our flicr feed here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1305467@N25/
